Long time no update! I’ve been busy on my main gig (raising a small two year old human boy named Henry), but pulled myself out from underneath laundry piles, astronaut helmets and fire trucks to work on another Car Seat Headrest poster!, I’ve done another poster for them back in 2016, and was thrilled/honored to be asked by the band to do the poster for their last hometown show/final shows of 2018. Car Seat Headrest is one of those magical, mystical bands to me whose cryptic details only become more fascinating with each listen. Poster is 3 colors (cyan, magenta, midnight blue) on white stock, printed by the utterly outstanding humans over at Broken Press in Seattle. There will be a small (like, really small) run of similarly designed shirts available at the shows as well, but I’d grab those immediately if you’re so inclined, as none of this stuff will be available for sale online post-show.
I also got invited to do a poster for the Capitol Hill Block Party poster show and was lucky enough to get to work on Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s poster. 3 colors (dayglo pink, orange and a smiling alligator green) on heavy white stock, full of hat tips to the Ruban Nielson’s lyrics. The first music my son ever really showed a gravitation toward, the first stuff that ever really got him dancing and bopping around, was Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s first record, so it was a giant thrill to try to represent them visually. Limited run of 50 posters, and any/all proceeds from the sale of this poster go to benefit RAICES Texas. Go buy one here.
